2012 Umpire Class Braintree High school

Classes will take place at Braintree High School room 305 starting  January 11, 2012. Class includes Book, Instruction and test.  Each class starts at 7 pm.

Pre-registrations are welcome. To pre-register email to dom.dimare@ssua.org or ump1194@yahoo.com.

Class fees are $135.00.  The fee also includes first years membership dues.

2012 Membership Dues are $81.00

Membership Dues can be paid NOW!  Take care of it while its fresh in your mind. They can be mailed or paid on pay pal.....If you choose the pay pal method just follow the links..... And thank you in advance

Question

A fellow member ask me this question and I thought it was good to have some discussion: Runner on third 3-2 on the batter two out  dropped third  strike that gets by the catcher. The runner from third is thrown out at the plate. The coach asks "hey blue who leads off the next inning" the batter who struck out?????? or the next batter... Food for thought....

2012 SSUA meeting dates: ALL MEETINGS AT THE WEYMOUTH ELKS HALL, UPSTAIRS UNLESS NOTED.........

3/28, 4/11, and 5/2 which is the business meeting (food will be served)

• Members MUST make at least 3 meetings

Meetings are held at Weymouth Elks. 1197 Washington Street (Rt. 53), E. Weymouth. @ 7:30 p.m. sharp.

Annual membership dues must be paid on or before first meeting. 2012 Dues are $66. Late fee will be applied to dues not paid by first meeting which is scheduled for February 1, 2012.

SSUA Objectives

1. To promote the game of baseball by a uniform interpretation of the rules of baseball.
2. To safeguard the integrity of the game and promote sportsmanship by way of training and instruction of this organizations members.
3. To establish trust and respect for individuals who umpire baseball games by training officials to recognize and respect the interests of players, coaches, administrators and fans associated with every league organization and school that is serviced by this organizations members.
4. To provide a proper forum for the purpose of open exchanges of ideas among the members of this organization.
5. To provide competent, knowledgeable, qualified individuals to administer the rules of the game in a fair and impartial manner thereby instilling confidence in the integrity of the game by the general public and all players, coaches and league and/or school administrators.
